8 Phrases To Break The Ice With Russians!

Russia is the second most powerful country on the planet after US.  The country has ties with almost every major economy in the world. Natives here speak Russian, and it is the official language of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

4-Меня зовут (Menja zovut)-My name is…

You may hear ‘Artem’ or ‘Aleksandr’ or a popular name like this. The conversation will get stuck just at this question if you don’t ask ‘What’s your name?’(Как вас зовут- Kak vas zovut).

5-Рад встрече с вами-(Rad vstreche s vami)-Pleased to meet you

 

In all probability, you hear this from the person you have just met.  What next?

6-Откуда вы?-(Otkuda vy)-Where are you from?

 

You should know about the phrase because you will have to let another know which country you belong to. Just say Я из-(YA iz)-I’m from… 7-а ты говоришь по русски?-(a ty govorish’ po russki)-Do you speak Russian?

Not every visitor to Russia will have good knowledge about the country so can reply Да, немного-(Da, nemnogo) – Yes, a little!

8-Пока-пока-(Poka-poka)-Bye-Bye
